COMMUNIQUE DE PRESSE N° 11 DU 22 SEPTEMBRE 2008 RELATIF AU SCANDALE DE LAIT FRELATE EN REPUBLIQUE POPULAIRE DE CHINE

Les autorités chinoises ont déclaré l'intoxication de 53.000 enfants par du lait contaminé à la mélanine. Parmi eux, 13.000 restent hospitalisés dont 104 bébés qui sont dans un état grave. Cette situation est confirmée par les autorités sanitaires internationales notamment l'OMS.

Plusieurs pays ont détecté la présence de la mélanine dans les produits laitiers fabriqués en Chine notamment à Hong Kong.

En attendant la prise d'un Arrêté Interministériel (Santé, Commerce, Production Animale et Ressources Halieutiques) le Ministre de la Production Animale et des Ressources Halieutiques, en application du principe de la précaution en Hygiène Publique Vétérinaire relativement aux produits laitiers et dérivés, décide les mesures ci-après :

I. DISPOSITIONS CONSERVATOIRES :

• Interdiction d'importation de lait et de produits dérivés en provenance de la République Populaire de Chine;
• Mise sous consignes de tous les stocks de lait provenant de la chine pour des analyses de laboratoire;
• Enlèvement des rayons de commerce et des marchés de tout lait et produits dérivés provenant de la chine.


Il. MESURES D'ACCOMPAGNEMENT :

Il en joint :
• Le SICOSAV (Service d'Inspection et de Contrôle Sanitaire Vétérinaire en Frontières) de prendre toutes les dispositions en vue d'identifier et de quantifier les stocks disponibles chez les importateurs;

• Les services vétérinaires nationaux, municipaux et des Districts sur l'ensemble du territoire national, de procéder à l'identification et à l'inspection des produits laitiers et dérivés sur le terrain et en particulier sur les frontières;

• les Préfets de Régions et les préfets de Départements de veiller à la mise en œuvre effective et stricte de ces dispositions conservatoires.

Aussi, j'exhorte les importateurs, les commerçants, les consommateurs et toute la population à tenir informé, les autorités sanitaires vétérinaires ou administratives les plus proches, de la présence de tout produit laitier provenant de la Chine sur toute l'étendue du territoire national.
